George Halaway of Sacramento has been looking for months for a deep-dish pizza dough recipe, similar to the crust made at Zelda's Original Gourmet Pizza in Sacramento.

Lauren Rossi of Roseville shares this recipe, which she says is buttery, flaky and fantastic.

Cook's Illustrated magazine published this recipe Jan. 1, 2010.

America's Test Kitchen recommends placing a damp kitchen towel under the mixer and to watch it at all times during kneading to prevent it from wobbling off the counter. It also recommends handling the dough with slightly oiled hands to prevent the dough from sticking.

The test kitchen prefers Dragone Whole Milk Mozzarella. Part-skim mozzarella can be used, but avoid preshredded cheese as it does not melt well. American's Test Kitchen also prefers Tuttorosso or Muir Glen crushed tomatoes.

Probably the most *luxe* looking mailbox -for the price- available. Well made. Sturdy. Great color (an aged bronze). Attractive design. Easy installation. “Rubber”ish padding underneath the forward edge of the lid so it doesn’t “clank” when closed. My only complaint is that I could not buy matching newspaper hooks. However, the hooks might not be neccessary: thus far all catalogues, regular mail & Netflix DVDs have fit within with room to spare!

I did not attach the “privacy plate” so I cannot comment on its effectiveness (attaches with little “stick ‘em” squares – I wonder about that. I’d probably whip out my glue gun).

Lastly, my mailman is even happier than I am!

Solid heavy construction, nice patina… what can I say? Very cool and well-built Mission style brass mailbox. I attached the privacy plate with the supplied doublestick tape and it seems to be holding fine after a rainy week… we’ll see what it’s like at the end of the winter.

Also as a side note, the stock photo at the top makes it look a little coppery colored, but it’s definitely brass.
