Baby puke and other debacles
When we haven’t been dealing with appliance malfunctions or freaking out over a possible snake in the house we’ve been taking turns getting covered in gooey white baby vomit by five-month-old Alexis Brinlee – a.k.a. Little Miss Pukes-A-Lot. Poor little Lexi suffers from a wicked case of reflux disease and not an hour goes by that she doesn’t drench either herself, one of us, or the carpet in regurgitated baby formula. Lucky for her she’s too adorable to stay mad at. But on a more serious note, it has been a rather trying week preparing for our soldiers to come home – only to hear each day that they’ve been delayed for the umpteenth time. Saturday afternoon we decided to take a little side trip to the Dave & Busters in Jacksonville, Florida as a much needed stress buster. On the way home Stephanie Brinlee said it was nice to spend some time just relaxing and having fun instead of constantly waiting for updates on when the guys would be home and preparing for their eventual arrival. But my favorite status update came from my ever-positive, glass half-full, loveable friend Ruthie. I’m not sure where she got the quote from, but it pretty much sums up not just this week or this deployment, but the lifestyle choice Army wives make to support their soldier husbands. “Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It’s for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It’s for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don’t see it nearly enough. How To Fix Washing Machine - News
