Tell us about yourself.

I’m just a guy who loves fat girls and rock and roll, with a nutty idea to put them together and a midlife crisis compelling me to produce an album.

How did music become your calling?

I'm sure my story is not too different than most. Hard rock spoke to me as a young teen, but I didn't really get into the scene until my college years. I became a DJ at my school's metal station and held that position for about five years, even beyond my graduation. I interviewed some of my rock heroes for the first time, like Eric Carr of KISS and, later, guys like Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum, who had just left the Vinnie Vincent Invasion.

I've done my best to keep up with the scene ever since, doing video work for acts like Twisted Sister, Skid Row and Ace Frehley. Just last month I shot the debut performance of Adrenaline Mob, featuring Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater and Russell Allen of Symphony X. I actually used to work with him at Medieval Times 20 years ago—he used to be a knight in the show and when I first met him, he was riding a horse and singing “Don't Treat Me Bad” by Firehouse!

Anyway, I'm mostly a fan who had a few connections, and managed to parlay this crazy idea for an album into an actual production.

So much of Eric Carr's life has become rock lore since his untimely passing twenty years ago. What do you remember talking with him about?

My interview with Eric was a huge thrill for me. KISS has always been my favorite band and I'd never even met anyone from KISS before, let alone interviewed them!
